I will not be convinced that aliens from the Sirius star system are beaming blue rays into the lodges on Earth. I did not see any aliens either but I did observe energy flows and that was how I chose the lodge in which I was initiated. It was a pretty wobbly flow but at least it was present.

... The Blazing Star is Venus, as I've said numerous times and no one seems to believe. Masonry preserves astronomical knowledge in our ritual. Venus is certainly preserved in the ritual in various forms. The difficulties with linking the Blazing Star to Venus are various, for example consider that Venus might then appear twice in the EA TB. Further the word Sirius is derived from the greek word Seirios σείριος "scorching, destructive" Thus the name Sirius can be translated as the scorching star or perhaps flaming star. As the gentlemen Masons at the beginning of the 18th century were educated in Greek, there was no need to identify the Blazing Star, it being a direct translation of the Greek σείριος I have seen the word also translated as "sparkling"and that certainly captures the essence of Sirius; I can tell you I had a very strange expereince with this star lo these many years ago, when I was the last of the "burlesque entertainers"(if I may so put it!) on the circuit, and was being ferried about the countryside to perform at various locations for what was at the time very good pay for one night's work. There was 4 of us in the car, including the driver, who was also the agent. It was very cold that night, and the turf was unfamiliar and the car running low on petrol; the prospect of spending the night in a car on a very cold night with a load of strangers did not appeal to me. I looked out the window of the car into the night and began to pray. My attention was gradually drawn by a star up in the sky that seemed to radiate a sense of 'being present and listening"... I directed my prayer to this star, asking it to get us safely home. I will never forget how I felt a confidence in this star, and sure enough , I did get home safely that night. I did not know what star this was, but I was sufficiently impressed by this star to note its location in the sky to be able to find it again. When i looked it up on a star map I found that my star was in fact 'Sirius." And indeed that star and I have had a "sirius" relationship over the years. I remember once being the only one to greet Sirius rising at dawn at an OTO "bacchanale" that had actually taken place on a mountain.

In some traditions there is a lodge of Sirius to which the perfected human may aspire. In Masonry that is depicted at the top of the ladder with as many rungs as virtues.

What to do when others find intelligence and support from a cosmos that seems indifferent and pitiless to the materialist.

It was said that the the ring of Solomon was swallowed by a fish, caught by a fisherman, and served to him. Do you think that it could have happened to Osiris? I doubt he was served Solomon's ring. ;D Phoenician character Samekh, meaning fish.

I doubt he was served Solomon's ring. ;D Phoenician character Samekh, meaning fish. Which proves what, exactly? Every known language in the world has a word for fish. Are you implying that the Phoenicians had Solomon"s ring too? Is that symbol supposed to be Osiris' lost phallus?

It's a pretty obvious symbol for fish. One oes not need to delve into myth to see its origins.

I expect an injection of morphine would be comforting... But to say that something is comforting is not to say that it's true."

Phoenician character Samekh, meaning fish. That reminds me of the non-Christian form of the Cross of Lorraine Lorraine has pre-Christian connections, for example to the grail and perhaps to the fish(er) king
