I guess there is a symbolic aspect to it.

I find it interesting to observe closely those with dark glasses in dim environments. Even on public transport I see people with very dark glasses trying to web browse on their mobiles. Sometimes they need to lift the glasses to read then put them back in place.
Then when they reach their destination, some of them take off their dark glasses in preparation for going out into the daylight.

> 'intent to move from isolation to union'
Here's what troubles me: shouldn't everyone be their own independent being with free will?
What is the point of existence if you can't even make your own decisions?
This is what bothers me about a lot of Eastern Mysticism. I would rather work FOR God than be a PART of God.

>shouldn't everyone be their own independent being with free will?
That is an important stage in the process: becoming free from imposed mental/emotional/physical patterns.
>What is the point of existence if you can't even make your own decisions?
Having obtained independence of thought and feeling it is possible to use that freedom to make real contributions to the unfoldment of the species/planet/galaxy.
Thus the 3rd degree initiate chooses to subordinate his/her well-being to the well-being of a greater wholeness.
If this is not done then the heart will not function properly. And inner development will slow then cease.
>I would rather work FOR God than be a PART of God
Is this a mental statement or a heart proposition?

>their own independent being with free will
There is also the interesting subject of how free a will may be. For example can my free will be imposed upon the greater system? Can I use my will to destroy this planet? Even if I can, may I?
Thus we find that our will becomes free of improper imposition but not free of the larger system within which it exists.
Perhaps I will let the galaxy exist a little longer.

The philosophical prominence of free will is quite late in human history. Many of the gods were not inclined to give such freedom to their humans:
Exodus 20:3-5Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
ב 3 “You are to have no other gods before me. 4 You are not to make for yourselves a carved image or any kind of representation of anything in heaven above, on the earth beneath or in the water below the shoreline. 5 You are not to bow down to them or serve them; for I, Adonai your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
Does a god's threat to one's great great grandchildren constitute an improper imposition on free will?

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal with certain inalienable rights, among these being life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
I think that one should be able to do whatever they want as long as they're not harming others or causing chaos for a large group of people.
If you want to have a pink mohawk and indulge in casual sex, alcohol and nicotine, then I say go for it.
If however you want to go around harming others, then that is where the line should be drawn in my opinion.
But there is also a spiritual evolutionary process as you've stated before.
My view is more of a middle path approach, I don't think you should be subordinating your own personal happiness for anything, my assumption would be that nature will support you in your own personal happiness and endeavors if you choose to look out for the well-being of others.

Does this presuppose that damage to my psyche and that of my sexual partners is not a problem for the greater whole?
Perhaps I or my partners might be part of something important.
>I don't think you should be subordinating your own personal happiness for anything
I take it that you have not had children yet.

> if a Dr is removing thorns or salt rocks from someones tail feathers that can be considered harm
It can be quite difficult to know when to help. Too much help or too soon can interrupt learning processes or the out-working of karma.
Some people specialize in emotional drama or helplessness in order to draw and hold others to them. This is particularly common in some families.

>seems everyone should get a free one Meaning if they come & ask for healing There is a current of thought that the spiritual part within humans has been placed upon this planet in this group of humanoids as an experiment to see how well these spirit-souls do in a disturbed planetary system. If this group does well they can be posted to really difficult systems to sort them out. If this proposition is correct then there must be rules to stop Earth humans just opting out of the experiment by reciting a suitable set of words/thoughts. Thus in this scenario there may be no free Meaning Card. It may well be that in disturbed systems one of the most important human virtues is loyalty. Loyalty stops groups fragmenting when under attack. I have seen several cases where quite legitimately the female partner chose not to progress in order to remain with her companion who had supported her over several difficult lives. >just fixing a person up that can lead to serious dependency On another thread, as I recall, I recounted when a Radionics practitioner and I twice spent half a day restructuring the etheric body of a woman with terminal cancer. Both times she got up and spent the next day walking around, but she could not maintain her system and so we did not do it a third time. >as far as im seeing it were supposed to learn intuition of what to do when we jump into the light On each sub-plane on which we wish to operate we can develop all 12(?) of the senses. (sense of direction, sense of humour, sense of justice, smell a lie, etc) >Earth energies are not the end game 2 master as we have other planets to learn to hop SO Rote memory practices might help a bit Our God is a God of Love. Thus for most Earth humans, all skills eventually can be seen as the result of relationships. (The spirit-soul in some Earth humans reports to (is part of) other Entities) >time to return things to worlds where they belong It is certainly nice to return to the places where one grew up. Still, if humans are spirit-souls then they do not belong to physical places but are cells within a greater Entity. Relationship to the greater Entity is the essential manifestation of Life. Planets are born and die but Spirit remains. > Earth does not seem to be one with fixed stationary skin covering That is a physical necessity on a planet that is expanding. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kL7qDeI05U

Are there any tricks to help one caught at certain points. For example, although I can relate to the higher subplanes, the lower subplanes still exert their influence (example; lust). Are there any 'tricks' to help one struggling with the negative energies of a certain subplanes?

There are resonances both up and down. Thus when a lower subplane has been controlled, months or years later there may be strong resonances from a higher plane. For example turbulent thought on 5.5 may disturb 6.5 (typified by the desire to be alone in facing problems).
If there is a trick, it is to recognize that the problem is coming from the higher level and to put the attention (love and light from the heart) into the higher level (located by intent and by attending to the layer in the chakra as it passes through the body - read the thread again to find an example).
It takes a lot of effort to accelerate the acquiring of control of the subplane matter but the result is significant progress through the stages of enlightenment.

RE: Note that it is not love under will but the will to love. I experienced a thought the other day that Crowley's "Love is the law, Love under Will" might be far more simple of a statement than people think. My heart tells me that Crowley was a trickster but largely had his heart in the right places, most of the time. The vision that accompanied the thought was that the tree of life is considered as a glyph for Venus (Love), i.e., "Love is the Law". Netzach is the sphere of Venus (Love) while Geburah is the sphere of Mars (Will). Netzach is literally under Geburah on the tree, thus "Love under will". This of course is a Qabalistic reference to the tree (The Law).

re: >As a small step forwards, the more accurate naming used in this thread can be leveraged by intent. Thus with a number and an accurate name the junior initiate can start to access the states of being. So who has tried this? ---------- It isn't quite clear what this entails (purposefully so as your next post suggests). A lot of interesting stuff going on here. You describe these subplanes as times as "energies/frequencies" and at other times as "states of being". I suppose these references are quite synonymous but it becomes more opaque when you discuss "clearing (e.g., 6.7) energy", or channeling 1.4 energy (Sanat Kumara?) through a 6.3 filter. It is one thing to conceptually understand the framework, but an entirely different thing to develop the sensitivity to perceive these energies directly (e.g., in a concrete slab). My self-assessment tells me that I am primarily working on subplanes 7.1, 6.4, 5.2, 5.1. I've experienced direct perceptions of 4.4, and 4.1. I seem to be mostly operating in Level 5. 21_STEPS.emf (153.03 KB)

>It isn't quite clear what this entails
Read the thread more carefully. I have given more practice details than you have detected.
>You describe these subplanes as times as "energies/frequencies" and at other times as "states of being"
The subplane substances, when present in the light body, even temporarily as in a group meditation, support the frequencies required for particular states of being.
>My self-assessment tells me that I am primarily working on subplanes 7.1, 6.4, 5.2, 5.1
Generally humans work at lower subplanes on the higher planes. For example, someone still dealing with the mid-range emotional frequencies will have turmoil feeding into the lowest mental subplanes making them difficult to control.
Such a person can certainly have higher mental subplane experiences stimulated by incoming energies. The essential issue however is the control of those subplane substances - for example: contacting the greater mind at will. This control takes much effort over a long time.

>Chokmah is the highest but above the abyss.
Is there no will in Ain Soph Aur?
Bear in mind that the Tree as a geometric form is interpreted to include the theology arising from the Sumerian gods - Abraham was from Sumer.
For example the Abyss is the Apsu of Sumerian accounts. The Apsu is the fresh water ocean inside the Earth where Ea had (has?) his palace.
In the last couple of years scientists have announced that there is 3 times as much fresh water inside the Earth as there is water in the surface oceans. It seems that Apsu is real.
