Did you notice that in Civilisation One he demonstrated that a traditional Scottish lodge has the equipment for establishing accurate measures for time, length and weight?

What does that have to do with moon anomalies?
They say Japan was made by a sword. They say the old gods dipped a coral blade into the ocean, and when they pulled it out four perfect drops fell back into the sea, and those drops became the islands of Japan. I say, Japan was made by a handful of brave men. Warriors, willing to give their lives for what seems to have become a forgotten word: honor. -The Last Samurai

It was rather that Knight is making progress in recovering the fabled Masonic science.
Whether Masonic science is applicable beyond this planet may be debated
Erosion is caused by weathering, which needs an atmosphere with precipitation. I see none on that moon.
There you come to a significant problem with our Moon - the intensity of its gravity.
By Newtonian calculations it is quite low so the neutral point between the Earth and the Moon is quite close to the Moon. In practice however the neutral point is about 3 times the calculated distance - hence the many early Moon shots missing by great distances.
And of course with a greater gravity there is atmosphere that allows the observed clouds of dust on the Moon and the appalling sight of that US flag moving in the breeze.
Even without an atmosphere, a few millions of years of sunlight and meteors may take their toll on geological features.
