Why Are You Still a Mason?

Actually I did not mention the 7 Churches of Asia. I have no idea of their relevance to Masonry.
So what did you mention of relevance to Masonry?
As for the nature of the seven, there is value in considering the Revelation of St John (one of the traditional patrons of Masonry)

The Revelation of St John is indeed revelatory and relevant to Masonry - as befits a traditional patron of Masonry.

With a little insight one might compare the 7 Chakras with the 7 Officers of a lodge. Symbolism can be interpreted on many levels.

WHAT point or points of relevance are you suggesting in this instance?

Thereby mixing Eastern and Western Mystery Traditions!?

Woops - Lorr and I deleted a duplicate at the same time - still it is quoted above

Thereby mixing Eastern and Western Mystery Traditions!?
As one of the inheritors of the ancient mysteries, Masonry is loaded with Eastern traditions

The 7 Chakras of the nearest Temple in the Heavens are directly relevant to human Masonry.

Pure and Ancient Freemasonry is a repository of Western Mystery Traditions (WMT). If there are any early, common origins, they appears to have been so old as to have been pre-literate.
With modern, Western Orientalists, especially Theosophists, there has been an importation of Eastern concepts but this is a relatively recent phenomenon, fraught with grave misunderstandings and irreconcilable errors.

Tamrin We are told: Man is made in the image and likeness of God. From this much can be understood about the nature of Creation and the temples in the heavens. This is one of the objects for requiring the FC to study the hidden mysteries of nature and science.

We are told: Man is made in the image and likeness of God.
I do NOT rely on second-hand revelation.
We are each a system composed of physically unlike sub-systems: God is likewise composed.
Any similarity or identity is systematic NOT physical. There is NOT a guy in the sky.

So now that we have established that the human sub-systems are isomorphic with those of the greater system (as below so above) we can proceed to explore the interaction between a group (lodge) of humans and the greater lodge.

Which "greater lodge"? Grand Lodge or the one you "visit" on the star system of Alcyone?

Grand Lodge Eternal, the Heavenly Mansion, the temple in the heavens not made with hands - all these are relevant to the Brother who wishes to ascend from this sub-lunary abode.

Have you considered the likelihood of
reification ?
What does Alcyone have to do with this "temple in the heavens"?

I see reification is the word of the day. In this case the issue is not reification but veiling in allegory. Thus the body of Adam Kadmon is regarded as a temple - just as the human is regarded as a temple for the Spirit. The local temple in the heavens does not include Alcyone.
Post by tamrin on Nov 7, 2011 14:14:56 GMT 9.5
How do you know this is not an instance of reification?
The local temple in the heavens does not include Alcyone.
Then are you referring to our solar system as one of seven "temples" orbiting Alcyone?
