I see (www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread852980/pg1) that the anti-esoteric blight has invaded Australia with the edict from the G.M. Of NSW&ACT, which states “Regular Masonry does not permit within it any form of esotericism which encompasses or tends towards – occultism, sorcery, alchemy, astrology, profane mysticism, transcendentalism, supernaturalism, druidism, rosicrucianism, satanism or any concept or movement related to any of these."
Australian BB already outside the fold in clandestine LL need not worry and indeed may benefit from an influx of BB from “regular Masonry” who wish to continue their esoteric studies. Has the Federation established procedures for admitting Masons from other Jurisdictions?
The usual process for admission from other jurisdictions will be:
- if not recognised as regular then by initiation - if recognised as regular, then certification of good standing and then affiliation. - if the destination jurisdiction is not recognised by the originating jurisdiction then the brother will need to prove himself and show certificates. In my limited experience that has not been a difficulty.
In the Australian form of Rosecroix it is necessary to have all lectures approved before they can be given in chapter. It is perhaps a similar concern that the brethren may speak of matters that would not necessarily look good in public.
I am pleased with that. It is however disconcerting that such a move should have been thought appropriate. It suggests that that Grand Lodge has no interest in sending out a search party for the genuine secrets.

It came out of a committee overly influenced by one man who is also a Sydney Anglican. The Sydney diocese is fundamentalist and way out of step with the wider Anglican Communion. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglican_Diocese_of_Sydney
The response to the edict shows the true resolve of the Grand Lodge.
