אלהים (Elohim) is a Hebrew word found in some of the higher degrees and is usually translated as God. Some students have noted that the word is grammatically ambiguous, since ים is the plural masculine ending and attached to a feminine singular noun, אלוהּ; (Eloha). That word can be translated as god.
The contradiction of a grammatically female gender word with a masculine plural ending is said to suggest to some a hermaphroditic deity with characteristics of both sexes. Since we are speaking about a spiritual being, the discussion is about the supernal male and female, the male and female in essence.
In traditional Judaism the original idea was modified to take into consideration the verb form used with Elohim. If the verb is in the singular form the noun is masculine singular (God). If the verb is in the plural, the word is feminine plural (gods).
It seems to me that old-line LL are in a bit of a bind. They may bar women from their meetings, but at the same time they invoke a diety who in it's very name embodies both genders.
There is evidence enough that there were giants (compared to our stature) in those days. Sacred texts from around the world tell us this, plus we also have huge structures still standing all over the globe.
While I do not doubt that there were ancient astronauts visiting, using and educating us in the past, why on earth ( would the founders of Freemasonry want to reenact ancient history? How is that going to make good men better?
Babel-ing on...
Tall = high, but we do have what we refer to as higher dimensions not taller dimensions, and each dimension is said to have its own inhabitants or entities.
Freemasonry gives us the tools to refine our true self (not our body) so I have always thought Freemasonry was more about raising ourself up so that we had access to these 'higher' dimensions... the temple in the heavens not made with hands.

I suggest that the gods gave their half-breed descendents (who were generally left upon Earth) a modified form of their own spiritual (and material) technologies - partly from moral obligation and partly in case the gods resumed activities on the surface of the planet.
The spiritual technologies were passed on through the (7 lines of) mystery temples as best as the various generations could manage. Eventually the temples were destroyed and some remnants of the teachings were passed down in families and blood line groups.
Those groups, running into various difficulties, sought to preserve their teachings in various forms including tarot cards and a variety of semi-esoteric groups such as Freemasons. Once the teachings and practices were in non-private groups it became even harder to maintain any purity.
I would argue then that the founders of Freemasonry wished their descendents (sons of the widow) to follow in their spiritual practices and responsibilities.
It is debatable how successful that strategy has been.

Quite so, but sometimes the esoteric speculation obscures the original reality.
Can you explain more about spiritual technologies ... is this related to the Aboriginal songlines and other famous pilgrim routes and sites or something entirely different?
