I read that Ptah, or Peteh, is the real source of the words Petros and Rock used in the Bible. And that as 'chips off the Old Block', so to speak, we are expected to become perfect stones also.
"Thou are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church".
Interesting to note that:
Ptah created the Universe using his heart and his tongue.
Ptah was the patron God of Craftsmen.
Ptah was considered to be the sculptor of Mankind.
Ptah's high priest was called "Greatest of the Controllers of the Craftsmen".
Ptah is often depicted with a tassel hanging from the collar around his neck.
One of his titles is "Ptah South of His Wall" (as opposed to Ptah North of His Wall?)
Another is "Ptah Beautiful of Face"
One of Ptah's 'sons' was Imhotep, the deified architect of King Djoser in the 3rd Dynasty.
"He (Ptah) was depicted as a mummified man with unbound arms holding a staff incorporating the ankh (representing life), the was (representing power) and the djed (representing stability).
"a plinth which was also one of the hieroglyphic symbols used to write the name of Ma´at (who represented order or justice) and was the same shape as a tool used by stonemasons and architects to form a straight edge" www.ancientegyptonline.co.uk/ptah.html
Here we have a direct link between order and justice (rather Masonic qualities) and ancient Egyptian stone masons.
Just found this.. we are back to Ptah, Peteh, Petros, being a rock or a hill.
Ptah in Egypt was one of the earliest gods of Creation. Ptah was sometimes none other than the great hill, which rose from the waters of Creation. He was called the "Father of the Gods." And more importantly to these discussions, he was "The Keeper of Sacred Geometry," "Grand Master Architect" and "Creator of the Universe." And with Egypt's vast dedication to sacred geometry in its temples and pyramids, one can see that Ptah was probably the most revered god of all. Pictured above are two depictions of the god Ptah. The picture on the right is Ptah in the geometric "Magic 3-4-5" position. What is displayed here is none other than the famed geometric theorem identified with Pythagoras. This theorem was known in Egypt for several thousand years before the birth of the Greek mathematician to whom it is commonly attributed.

It has already been established by learned men that the Ark of the Covenant would fit perfectly into the sarcophagus in the King's Chamber- which was made out of pink granite. If there was a Pharoah, called Araaraart, then the Ark could well have come to rest on his mountain, The Gread Pyramid (Mountain of Fire). The Mountains of Araaraart?
Don't misunderstand or misinterpret! but the INTERPRETATION of death will be made plain.
... as in the Third Degree ?

The mound and the creator are the one thing.. if God is creator and Omnipresent
The great hill could be interpreted as the Earth itself when you read those words again, or, the smallest particle/wave/atom whatever so far as physics go. The waters of Creation are not generally interpreted as the liquid water that we are familiar with.
In Kabbala.... which Sephiroth represents the physical world? Most think that it is Malkuth, but I have heard it argued that at even this level, nothing is material.
The word rock does suggest to me that it has to do with foundations of sorts. (And why would Jesus change someone's name? Might the correct translation be Simon, the peter (foundation) stone, as in parents are the foundation stones of 'the family'?
(and maybe Jesus Christ is really Jesus, the Christ?)

As for the Great Pyramid, if you look at it in the right light it is possible to see water erosion marks right near the top. Thus the pyramid was largely submerged for some centuries.
There is also severe water erosion of the granite of the Osireum (later repaired) that indicates extreme age.

The Great Pyramid was originally encased in Limestone. It was only exposed as it is now in historical times, due to an earthquke. The Muslims carted off the limestone casing to build parts of Cairo.
Blavatsky puts the Great Pyramid at around 70 000 BC.
How does she know? Did her "Asended Masters" tell her so?
They say Japan was made by a sword. They say the old gods dipped a coral blade into the ocean, and when they pulled it out four perfect drops fell back into the sea, and those drops became the islands of Japan. I say, Japan was made by a handful of brave men. Warriors, willing to give their lives for what seems to have become a forgotten word: honor. -The Last Samurai

Quite so. Fortunately some of the limestone casing still remains as a search with Google will quickly show. And some of those images show horizontal striations on that remaining casing. You could argue that those striations are from unusual sand erosion but I think you will find that West has dealt with that assertion in his analysis of the Sphinx.
Of course the theory here is that the striations are from water flow rather than rainfall - hence horizontal rather than vertical.

It is of more interest to me to ascertain whether she was correct. Thus the account of 90 000 years of sediment at the Osireum is a new fragment in building a consistent account.
