The swan is an enigmatic esoteric image including the swan knight who must not be asked his origin/name, and Kala Hamsa, the swan out of time and space.
Here is a legend indicating some introduction of swan genetics: "it was considered more acceptable to depict a woman in the act of copulation with a swan than with a man."
Here is a restrained depiction - a copy of a lost da Vinci
The legend of husband and creature both fertilising the wife is of course also present in the Merovingian legends where the quinotaur - an amphibian - provides the interest. The Annedotus were also amphibian (e.g. Oannes) and associated with An/On and presumably Inanna/Isis. The descendents may appear as the Anakim.
Are you seriously going where I think you are, that there are swan DNA spliced into some human's genetics by, what? Aliens?
The swan and female paintings were metaphorical, Paul. The Medieval painters could not depict men and women doing the beast with two backs so they were being subtle about it.
The "pole star" is whatever star happens to be in the general vicinity of the earths imaginary axis as it wanders about the backdrop of the stars in it's wobble. It used to be in Draconis, which was more true to the angle of axis than Polaris is now.
This does not mean that humans have dragon DNA spliced into their genetic structure.
They say Japan was made by a sword. They say the old gods dipped a coral blade into the ocean, and when they pulled it out four perfect drops fell back into the sea, and those drops became the islands of Japan. I say, Japan was made by a handful of brave men. Warriors, willing to give their lives for what seems to have become a forgotten word: honor. -The Last Samurai
Leonardo also painted The Last Supper with some ambiguouity.. including the possibility that Jesus is not at the centre of that painting.
She bears seven children, six boys and a girl, with golden chains about their necks, but her evil mother-in-law has them quickly removed and abandoned and replaces them with dogs.
The evil stepmother in fairy tales can be seen to depict the material world or mind, our heavenly instincts replaced by animal instincts (dogs).
The magic number seven is in this story, 6 the same and one different might be the clue in deciphering that. 6 Chakras are position in the body and 1 is above it.
The seven stars of the Pleaides.. are 6 the same and 1 different?

"The 'Swan or goose' (Hansa) is the symbol of that male or temporary deity, as he, the emanation of the primordial Ray, is made to serve as a Vahan or vehicle for that divine Ray, which otherwise could not manifest itself in the Universe, being, antiphrastically, itself an emanation of 'Darkness' -- for our human intellect, at any rate" (SD 1:80).
The male being the goose made me smile. We women already knew that.
The goose has wings.. so is not earthbound.
Da Vinci may well have been trying to depict another virgin birth. Gabriel had wings and Mary was a virgin. Similar symbology.
I am more than a little suspicious that Leonardo was being a very naughty boy and poking fun and the Christian Annunciation stories. He was a scientist.

"The 'First Cause' had no name in the beginnings. Later it was pictured in the fancy of the thinkers as an ever invisible, mysterious Bird that dropped an Egg into Chaos, which Egg becomes the Universe. Hence Brahm was called Kalahansa, 'the swan in (Space and) Time.' He became the 'Swan of Eternity,' who lays at the beginning of each mahamanvantara a 'Golden Egg.' It typifies the great Circle, or O, itself a symbol for the Universe and its spherical bodies" (SD 1:359).
I can see that the above might be referring to below..
the constellation of Cygnus, also known as the Northern Cross, was venerated in ancient times by nearly every culture around the world. Cygnus, located near the Great Rift of the Milky Way, was seen as the doorway between the physical world and the spiritual realm.
Does the constellation of Cygnus have some operational role in all of this?
Had more time to find out a few things about Da Vinci's painting and the constellation last night.
The painting is obviously depicting the stroy of Zeus & Leda ... who gave birth to the Gemini.
The constellation of Cygnus contains both the Pelican Nebula and the Veil Nebula. From a masonic point of view, I thought that interesting.
Astro-archeology? Seeding the Universe? Could all be true, just different levels of understanding.
The picture that springs to my mind is Kether (God) ->Chokmah (Swan) -> Binah (Earth Mother) producing Gemini (the Pillars at the Porch or Entrance) - Tree of Life symbolism. Passage from the One to the many.

I recall being out at midnight on New Year's eve in northern Scotland. It was cold but the rain had stopped and the cloud gone with the stars visible. I stopped next to a tree I knew well and it suggested I move closer to get out of the wind.
Then Erwin (the tree spirit) said that it had been fed twice - once by the rain and now by the starlight.
He indicated that the starlight contains the patterns for the unfoldment of trees.
Perhaps it is so for humans.
If so, what patterns come in the light from Cygnus?
Darned if I know. I guess if we studied the myths attached to the constellatin a little more closely it might provide some clues.
Did you know that trees have 'a heart' or a 'door' that is easily dowsed? When I heard about it, I must admit I raised an eyebrow and rolled the eyes a little but later decided to test it - and it proved true. Amazing. Goodness knows what it all means, but there is something about one part of a tree that is different to the rest.
..........
I just took a minute to see if I could find something on that on the web... success.
FRENCH COIL - PEST CONTROL
Extracted from an article by` Marcel `Triau, a member of the `ASD.
Of all the systems of insect control in use today, the majority are artificial. However, nature is very precariously balanced and the least tampering can bring about disastrous results - as evidenced by indiscriminate use of insecticides and upsetting the prey predator ratio.
For the past 18 years I have used and researched a safe and simple system of pest control which takes advantage of some little known and little understood laws of nature. Because we cannot scientifically define and analyze these laws many people disbelieve them. However, nature is full of mystery and even the working of our own bodies is not fully understood.
This particular system is called the ` French Coil ' because it originated in France in the 1930's and consists of a coil of wire. The equipment needed is a long piece of copper wire (# 10 for small trees, # 8 for larger trees), sticks for support, rubber for insulation, and of course, an infested tree.
One end of the wire is buried in the earth at the base of the tree to provide a ground and prevent short circuits. The wire is then coiled around the tree trunk several items with the free end left pointing into the air - to act as an antenna. The coil can be held in position by wooden stakes with insulation to prevent grounding the wire to the stakes.
Perhaps the minute amounts of electricity in the air flows into the wire and the tree and creates a magnetic field around the tree, giving the tree more health and strength and weakening the pests resulting in their destruction. You should install the French Coil before the sap starts to run.
A Tree has a " front door " - a certain place on the trunk, about 6 to 18 inches long, where this energy enters the tree. It usually faces northwest but varies slightly from tree to tree. On the opposite side of the trunk is the " back door " which acts as a safety valve allowing the release of electricity should the tree become overcharged. The " front door " demonstrates its affinity for electricity following the path of an electrical storm; it returns to its original position when the storm is over.
However, the " front door " and " back door " are undetectable to the eye as is the atmospheric electricity - except when it manifests itself as lightning or static electricity. The " front door " and " back door " must be detected by a dowser, who must supervise the entire set up.
Note: To find the front door, use your index finger of one hand as a pointer, and ask your Pendulum (held in your other hand) to indicate the location and the top (or bottom) position.
The wire must be wound around the tree in a right hand spiral starting from the " front door ", three to five inches away from the surface of the bark. The dowser will determine the number of coils needed and the distance between the loops. The free end of the wire must be within the limits of the " front door ". The height of the first coil is unimportant but it must be below the level of the front door.
Now the system is ready to work and there is absolutely no danger to anyone who comes near or touches the tree or wire. I have used the Coil on many types of trees and types of pests.
It has killed caterpillars in apple trees in New England and snails in grapefruit trees in the Bahamas. While I have not been able to methodically test its effectiveness against every common tree and pest, there are no known reasons to doubt its effectiveness on any tree or pest.

The ancient agrarian symbolism included rain as the "Semen of God." It was thought that Father God inseminated Mother Earth, who then produced foodstuffs from her womb.
Many myths depict women becoming pregnant by a male deity. Zeus appears to Leda as a swan. Birds and eggs were connected to the Aegean Mother Goddess. He appears as a shower of gold to the mother of Perseus, a bull to another woman. The list goes on and on. Other traditions tell of women becoming pregnant by the wind, the rain, by lightning, and by eating bread
Every one of these symbols return us to the Divine Masculine or Power of Grace. The white energy that falls from the sky. This are divine ideas that are being implanted and then born into this world.
Leto, another of Zeus' lovers, gives birth to Apollo and Artemis. The God of the Sun and The Goddess of the Moon are also symbols of the two paths, The Way of Passion and the Way of Grace. Some call these the right-hand and left-hand paths.
