humor can also attract the muse.. being able to enjoy the muse as it performs is good entertainment.. do we want to be entertained? laughter usually lifts the spirit (endorfines i think) and the muse tends to inspire.. i suppose it al hinges on the muse being present or not..
i assume the amusing part of amusical music is that it is a "mistake".. the entertainment is derived from the musicians making "errors" (which can be intentional).. the muse can still be the cause of amusically amused masses
I recall a painter who for a decade or so sold fake paintings through Southeby's.
He said that initially he was amazed that his fakes were not detected.
When he stood in front of genuine art, he said that his hair stood on end. But his paintings did nothing for him.
Sometimes I notice with a tonal performance that my hair stands or there is a deepening in me. Furtwangler conducting Wagner is particularly good at that. Perhaps those performances are music.
They say Japan was made by a sword. They say the old gods dipped a coral blade into the ocean, and when they pulled it out four perfect drops fell back into the sea, and those drops became the islands of Japan. I say, Japan was made by a handful of brave men. Warriors, willing to give their lives for what seems to have become a forgotten word: honor. -The Last Samurai

i think it may have something to do with certain combinations triggering a release of chi.. 1 has to be "open" to the music in question to allow the release.. this is prolly why the same piece of music doesnt "work" for everybody.. a matter of taste (affinity)..
a popular term is resonance.. musac rarely resonates with any1 where music generally does.. 1 could say musac is uninspired and music is guided by the muse..
something noteworthy i saw on tv a while ago; there r certain patterns in music that make it a "hit".. iow, these patterns resonate in most ppl.. what r these patterns and why do they resonate in most (if not all) ppl?
the beat is an important part of the pattern.. it can indd influence the heartbeat.. harmony and disharmony (and the play between them) r prolly even more important factors.. some others r creativity and familiarity (not to outlandish but also not to similar chord scemes and melody lines).. "proper" music reputedly "entertains" a larger part of the brain (forgot which parts)..
If the human has non-physical aspects then those may be impacted by non-physical aspects of the performance. The recording may serve as a carrier wave for the non-physical signals.
