Cofield ran off most of the participants. Here, I don't know what you and Lorr are talking about half the time, so I just don't comment.
They say Japan was made by a sword. They say the old gods dipped a coral blade into the ocean, and when they pulled it out four perfect drops fell back into the sea, and those drops became the islands of Japan. I say, Japan was made by a handful of brave men. Warriors, willing to give their lives for what seems to have become a forgotten word: honor. -The Last Samurai
I must admit that on some other forums I eventually tired of the amount of supposed humour that was injected into threads that I thought were serious. Such interjections push the serious contributions on to the previous page and thereby prevent any sort of contemplation of the issues.
On this forum with Lorraine, I attempt to facilitate discussions that might assist in unveiling those secrets that still remain in current Masonic ritual and symbolism. Sometimes I am surprised at where we get to and that of course raises considerations on the obligation to secrecy.
In that regard I am reminded of a comment by an authority I respect. As I recall it goes: It is as well that Masons do not work their ritual effectively.
I appreciate the discussion here, unfortunately, I don't often have sufficient time to delve too deeply anymore - life is a bit hectic lately. I'll be going on a spiritual retreat on the 23rd at the home of the editor of Green Egg, so perhaps I can recharge my spiritual batteries.

I think the humor on the other forums is a result of simply blowing off steam, although sometimes it gets taken too far.

I can relate to that Some years ago now pretty much anything written by what I call the "deeply esoterically aware" on masonic forums used to flow right over my head Henka. Sometimes I would have an inkling that there was something to it, but I could not quite put my finger on it. One of the benefits of my current job is that I have had the good fortune to have a lot of thinking time, and as the years have passed I have come not only to understand a fair amount of it, but to feel it in daily life. Often I have used what has been written as "conceptual mental frameworks" a bit like "scientific paradigms" they may or may not be true but they offer a framework for explaining things that you can test see and feel. The only difference when it comes to esoterics is that as we are all on different paths, and are at different stages of those individual paths, it can be a little tricky.
To give you one example. I once read in a book on hermetics that it is good to place yourself in other objects ( eg a tree or a picture on a wall) and see life from that perspective. At first this sounded daft, and impossible to try to do. Now I can enjoy the beauty of watching life from those perspectives, it really does humble you. Clearly you dont physically go into said picture or tree, but you can connect and place yourself there and philosophically watch. It had helped to give me a much better understanding of humanity, life cycles, energy flows etc. But it has also taken thousands of hours of development. Clearly it could all be me going slowly insane, but it has offered me a valuable tool for making sense of life.
