I spent an afternoon with someone special on Saturday... (me and about 15 other people). That special person was Ikko Dai Ajari, who has been trained since birth in Mikkyo (esoteric Buddhism) and Shintoism (a path to God).
One thing that one could not overlook during the afternoon was that the members of the group responded very loudly and clearly. I did think at one stage 'don't shout'.
On another occasions, during certain exercises or meditations, Ikko Dai Ajari performed very loud and precise hand clapping.
Apparently, these sort of noises penetrate the higher dimensions. It reminded me of our knocks etc...
Makes me wonder what the difference is between silent prayer and loud raps etc... surely prayer penetrates to the highest?

Raps with rhythm and/or intent may connect to other substance and entities based upon sympathetic vibration. (The materials involved in making the rap are also important)
The value of prayer depends upon various factors including:
- the karma of the one praying and his/her group - the connectedness of the one praying to the higher levels of existence - the relationship between what is being sought and the greater plan - the state of various planetary and systemic currents.
In my limited observation, much prayer is begging or offering to trade. The danger is that such prayers may well be answered by lower entities with peculiar agendas and interests in trade.
The humans involved may be protected by their difficulty in maintaining a focussed intent and by conducting prayer in a suitably tyled environment.
Some traditions teach that affirmations, invocations etc must be spoken (loudly & precisely ? ) whilst I have always understood that speaking from the heart, silently, was the Way.
Is this related to the knocks as per your post above?

... and for the record, a person in our group that experienced the afternoon with the Mikkyo master joined up and attended their meetings for a year. She has since resigned. She knew that they were tapped into 'something' and she loved the Fire Ceremonies, but she found the group as a whole to start to become very controlling, domineering, starting from the top.
(..no different to most other organisations when you think about it )

The intentional action may occur on various planes: physical, emotional, mental, heart, will, etc
The lower the plane on which the intentional action occurs, the more precise the invoking action needs to be. That is because the responding intelligences of the lower planes mostly have limited perspectives.
Hence, a vision of well-being for all may be held in the heart without intending that that well-being take any specific form. Alternatively, if needing a new bike, it is as well to be specific about the size and condition.

Quite so. The Board does not extend from E to W and N to S as does a lodge. It relates more to the temple in the heavens.
