Yesterday I noticed a couple of beings arrive to stand each side of one of my friends. Immediately the word Cherubim appeared in my mind. So my friend and I did some tests of that identification and it appears to be correct. I see the beings as vague light structures - a tall human height with a rather swept back sense around the head that might correspond to the traditional eagle head associated with cherubim en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherub

Interesting post Paul. Would that I could see what you see. Re Cherubim... do you think it possible that some angels are guardians/guides/?? of the chakras? You have mentioned internal entities previously. Angels guard the gates and the chakras are also known as gates. Cayce said that the four beasts (see below) in Revelations refer to the four lower chakras, which govern the dense physical, etheric, emotional and mental bodies. The Sanskrit name of the Base Chakra, Mooladhara Chakra, means 'support of the Root(Kundalini)' because it supports the whole Tree. The prophet Ezekiel described the four Kherubim as being the bearers of the Chariot of God- the Merkabah. In Hindu mythology the principle deities each have their own 'vahana'or vehicle. In the ranks of the Hindu vahanas we see the Four Kherubim appear: The Goddess Devi rides a lion(Leo), Vishnu the eagle Garuda(Scorpio), Shiva the bull Nandi (Taurus), and the Kundalini is the vehicle of mankind(Aquarius). On his journey through the seven heavens (the seven chakras) Muhammad rode on Al Buraq, a feminine horse-like creature comparable to Kundalini.

Cherubim and 'wheels within wheels'.. 10:9 I looked, and there were four wheels beside the cherubim, one beside each cherub;
.............
The first formal mention of spiritual structures, including energy centers and pathways, appears in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, c. 300 B.C. He reveals six centers and an ultimate luminescence that occurs around the top of the head. These centers are depicted in two ways: as chakras (literally, “spinning wheels”) and as padmes (literally, “lotuses”). Therefore, one may understand that the spiritual centers are both energy vortexes that generate movement as they are stimulated (as a spinning wheel) and enlightenment complexes that unfold as they grow (as an opening lotus). Cayce correlated these centers with the endocrine glandular system in the body.

Re Cherubim... do you think it possible that some angels are guardians/guides/?? of the chakras? The cherubim in this case were attracted by the focus of GAOTU energy around my friend. Chakras typically have a nature spirit to manage the elemental energies of each chakra. Particular chakras may attract a higher being e.g. the mental chakra typically (but not always) attracts a solar entity that corresponds to the concept of a guardian angel. The category of Guardian Angels is however somewhat looser in usage and might include, for example, a range of positively intervening entities.

The prophet Ezekiel described the four Kherubim as being the bearers of the Chariot of God- the Merkabah. We need to be careful to distinguish physical events described in symbolic terms from inner events and beings. Thus Ezekiel very likely saw an actual flying machine but later redactors struggled to interpret the technology and fell back upon received symbolism Here is Ahuramazda There is a clear suggestion of landing pods And here is Ashur looking a bit Masonic. Funny how Ahura and Ashur are so similar The reason this image looks Masonic is that it has combined the tradition of beings flying around the globe measuring it - symbolically depicted as using dividers (compasses) - with the gods flying around with weapons - a low tech depiction here as a bow and arrows but the bow has an angle rather than a curve. Here is a medieval depiction of the measurement process. There is an ancient Egyptian depiction of two beings with balls of thread and dividers measuring a globe - but I have lost the link

You do know that there is a Masonic coat of Arms with cherubim as its supporters... They are winged, human headed angels with bulls' feet. and eagle wings. I would assume a lion's tail as well. There are the "tetramorphs", or "four-shapen". They are guarding what I assume to be the Ark of the Covenant, represented at the top. I can tell you that the fabled "arks" actually exist; I know someone who was present at the unearthing of two of them. so it is just possible that this symbolism has actuality behind it, and not just metaphor.

The UGLE coat of arms has some rather humanoid cherubim but I suspect the reason for the original use of the cherubim by the Antients has been lost. Similarly perhaps for the Ark - it having no representation in most of craft Masonry (afaik)

The Wheels are an actual class of Sephirothic Angelic beings; of Chokmah, in fact. "Ophanim" means "Wheels". [as in "Wheel of the Zodiac"]
The Angels of Binah are the "Aralim", or "Thrones". Put the together, and you have the "Chariot".
In the Lalita-Sahasranama, the Great Goddess in the form of Lalita is described as "being seated in her chariot "Chakra-Raja"" ["King Wheel"]

Binah = Isis? Was a Throne?

It may be common to allocate Isis to Binah, similar in some ways to associating a human mother with the mother figure of the dominant religion.
In a similar way, important physical events and beings are later incorporated into metaphysical and mythological frameworks and progressively the distinction is blurred by time.

Archetypes I think that is why we can have so much fun on forums ... we can argue about things and all be correct and not realise it.. or something like that .. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ArchetypeIs Widow and archetype?

I suggest the Widow is firstly historical and secondly an archetype.
But because the history comes from a much older civilisation than ours we must regard it as mythology

I see the beings as vague light structures - a tall human height I swear I saw a photo of 'an angel' once. Well a Light Being anyway. A friend of mine (and a Bro) ran camps for disadvantaged children. It was her practice when camping out in the bushland to mentally ask the angels to guard the children through the night. One evening it was so calm and beautiful, and so quiet - the children bedded down for the night, she decided to try and photograph the scene. She took 2 photos from different angles of the scenery which included a tent and in both photos there was an ovoid bright and shining light by the tent opening - about the height of a tall person. I was speechless (believe it or not) and totally delighted.

In the above photo there is a quite different feel to the light body on the left compared with that on the right.
What are their intents and where are they looking?

The archetype of the Widow is associated with Isis, due to the murder of Osiris. The Black Isis is associated with Binah, no doubt about THAT. Qabalistic meditation on Binah has confirmed this to my satisfaction, thus the association of the mythical Isis with "Thrones" is no accident.

association of the mythical Isis with "Thrones" is no accident. And even the image of a throne, in Egypt, was sufficient to identify Isis. The question in my mind however is whether Isis is a physical humanoid that walked Egypt before the Old Kingdom.

There is certainly some interesting geometry in the landscape.
I once saw a map of France showing that cathedrals dedicated to Mary marked out the shape of the constellation Virgo covering much of the country. Why would any one bother to do that?
