What are words other than expression formed through the creation of culture. Expressed by the will of ones voice. Inspired by environment, inspired via belief.
Spoken only for achievement. Spoken to be heard.
Then what is the suppression of language ?
Then what is the suppression of words ?
There are words that make a neck tie. There are words that make the noose.
When they come together then where lay words of truth.
I distinguish mind-thoughts from brain-thoughts. During sleep we dream, usually without the brain since we are out of the body, and our dreams are largely lost on wakening when we take up brain-thinking again.
Are words also brain functions - brain-sounds rather than cosmic sounds?
As for culture, sometimes words are needed beyond what the culture supplies. I read that Japanese submariners in WW2 had to use English words for much of the technology as the Japanese lacked the words.
I was booted off a spiritual forum because I kept using foreign words like Mahapralaya that had no English equivalents. The Admin policy was only English words.
"In the beginning was the Word" seems a statement constrained by culture.
I rather think that the creative sounds only appear when the waves finally reach the shore.
"Are words also brain functions - brain-sounds rather than cosmic sounds?"
I really like this question Paul. It's a complex one.
We live within the father mind, the all prevailing thought. Which is the WORD. Our thoughts (mind/s) resonate akin to cosmic sounds giving us the ability to tune into and out of the many planes as well as resonating or in correspondence with others. This is a function of our brain. And in this context I can see how you separate the mind and brain.
"From the finished thoughts of me it rains upon my shores"
Perhaps it does. Perhaps the heart is chaos and the light of the heart was light born out of chaos which is the word, just as it is in us and for us, meaning if we liken our lives and body to the unrefined state (chaos) its through the light of the heart we over come many things, via use our minds. I like to think that the intent is progression and gaining of knowledge just as it is for us.

"On earth as it is in heaven"
In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth. And the Earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And God said let there be light; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
To me this shows the heart came from the light. That it was good and needed separation from darkness. The heart was form and void. The "problems" came from that expression. Translating our deepest beliefs became an issue.
