For my late Uncle Roger Keyes who passed away on 27th August 2022.
Star Trail
Bright comes dawn and mourning star that fills eastern sky expanding light through cloud and late winter haze- parting darkness moves other ways as sunrise turns red drifting hue far south and out along the hills where birds' calls waken distant streams of air and water flowing free.... a vagrant tree.
Every day at dawn a sun in born that makes a generation bloom through shadow night and gloom- through tunnel war and doom- to see in looming sight ahead the pilot of the flight that left a ghostly trail in fleeting days.
Evening star comes in quiet, glimmering rays.... but bright and shining is the noon that rides a chariot's wonderous path of banished fears for long and endless years.

Distant peaks emerge....clear as day. The hermit's lantern turns to guide the way. Hermit's Way - F. J. Rogers
I can see Roger. He appreciates your thoughts. And as I write this he turns away to his inner work - bridging this solar system to nearby systems
He's been on my mind a lot since his passing. I miss him in a way although I would like to have seen him a bit more often over the years. Time just runs away so quickly and people grow older in no time at all.
