Faint shimmering light ahead in northern sky.... beckoning high above rim over tall roofs and hilly points on treeless land.
Short winter days pervade festive swell as darkness comes like seething fire before eventide has waved its way along the shadowed path from fleeting noon.
Starry nights brighten still the gloom.... with other light that's glimmering far in distant sight pervading through haze that drifts aloft as transcendental veils.
Winter seems long in northern parts- a burden to the hearts of young and old- but light is never far from human reach. We share the rays it yields to live and teach.

Distant peaks emerge....clear as day. The hermit's lantern turns to guide the way. Hermit's Way - F. J. Rogers
This may be a little inappropriate, and I apologies now if it is, but you clearly have a gentle heart that I find quite uplifting.
There is a soft gentle power to your words.
Thank you Stewart. I find poetry inspiring to write. The wonderful thing about poetry is that it gives writers great freedom of expression which they may not experience with other types of literature. I would never discourage anyone from writing poetry. It expands consciousness and makes people grow.
Have a wonderful weekend.
