I was doing some boring and tedious downloading for my mom (putting a system restore on her PC from CD's). So I remembered she had a genealogy book on the shelf, and wanted to thumb through it. I found not so much info about the furthest back person on the Reeve side of my family, but his son was quite well documented! His name was Hurum Edgar Reeve, and I found it to be quite a interesting story and thought you all might too.
Totally! I was actually able to go back further, to George Reeve born 1666. I am not able to find much about who he was or his life though. Atleast not in as much detail as Hurum.
Hmm looking more into it, this information seems to have been temporarily lost. The name was McKellips on one side and on the other VanSkiver. McKellips who was associated in some way with McDonnell (possibly clan Glengarry?). There is some Irish sides to my family, but I was told McKellips still reside in Scotland today. The information used to be online, but it has disappeared and my mom thinks the person who was doing it might have passed away. There is still some of this on paper, it will be a lot harder for me to dig up but still in the family somewhere.
Researching David MacKillop and Margaret Drummond married June 23, 1694 in Kincardine Parish, Perthshire, Scotland. They had at least three daughters: Janot, Margaret, and Katrin - born br>between 1698 and 1707. They moved to Londonderry, Ireland. They emigrated to New Hampshire area of Londonderry and Salem. David and Margaret may be buried in Salem, NH. David II, son of David and Margaret, was born on the ocean. There is no proof of this as his birth was recorded at Chester, NH as 1709. It is assumed that the McKillop family went from near Castle Stirling, Scotland to protestant Ireland (counties of Antrim and Londonderry) long before any members of the family came to America. With all the variations in spelling, this is definitely a family web.
David was the last of my line to live in Scotland. It says they were in Ireland but it doesn't seem for long. We also have Irish heritage from McLlanahan, here is a link for it.
