I find it quite useful when trying to correlate various traditions.
Sometimes it just makes me wonder
.... if the Archangels Raphael, Gabriel, Michael and Auriel are mentioned in Freemasonry? .... if the 872 is a useful number in any of the sciences, are these petals related to petals in other traditions .... why are the Portal, Temple and Sanctuary set out as they are.
Better than a cryptic crossword
Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting…trailing clouds of glory do we come from God, who is our home -Wordsworth
>Raphael, Gabriel, Michael and Auriel are mentioned in Freemasonry
I do not think that they are in mainstream Masonry - unless they are veiled under other names. E.g. the figures standing on columns on the EA TB are said to be GMs but there is no proof given.
>if the 872 is a useful number in any of the sciences, are these petals related to petals in other traditions
Is 872 in the depiction?
>why are the Portal, Temple and Sanctuary set out as they are
With 7 stages related to planetary signs the arrangement seems to be related to ladders. The Mithraic ladder, like this depiction, has 7 stages with Saturn at the top, but the rest of the stages are not the same. It looks like a medieval kabbalistic assignment of planetary signs to progressive stages of development.
