In most Masonic jurisdictions the S&C appear with a G in the center. However, it seems Le Droit Humain modified it slightly by placing the the G on top of a 5-pointed star inside the S&Q:
With the loss of many lodges during the schisms of the mid-1990's, new jurisdictions modified the S&Q to indicate this change. The Honorable Order of American Co-Masonry, for example, replaced the G with the Hebrew letter Yod:
Perhaps the use of Yod in this symbol represents a more esoteric orientation of Masonry in the jurisdiction. The 5-pointed star harkens back to the history of the Federation.
