Its full title being The Canon: An Exposition of the Pagan Mystery Perpetuated in the Cabala as the Rule of All the Arts
Written by William Stirling IV, an architect, collector of rare books and a Freemason, he published this, his life's work in 1897 aged 36, five years before he took his own life in his rooms at The Adelphi, London. His father, William Stirling III died when he was 5 years old, the author provided financial support for his mother and unmarried sister in Dunblane, Scotland.
It is a difficult read in parts due to the technical nature of the work, but is well worth the effort.
I seem to recall finding it in an esoteric second hand book shop, but that was long ago and my memory may not be correct. It certainly was not from a lodge library.
I might say also that I remain somewhat sceptical of most of the writings on gematria. They seem to me to be speculation with no testing. Mouni Sadhu is an honourable exception.
