They certainly were not the first mother/daughter Freemasons. Twelve years ago I had the greatest of pleasure to Initiate my daughter into our Masonic Order, which is Le Droit Humain.
Still it is good to have it known that women have options when it comes to Freemasonry.
Who would have thought that acceptance of Gay Marriage would come before the the acceptance of women into "mainstream Freemasonry" ;D
Seems there might be a few around. Anyone else out there know of mother/daughter masons?
In the Chicago area we had an entire family of Freemasons. Here in the east I remember a mother and son. When the Federation left Le Droit Humain the son joined the old-line fraternity and has become very active in York Rite.
Just as gratifying are the husband and wife teams in the order. I wonder how it worked out when the wife assumed the Chair of KS and the husband was still in the line.
