This is an interesting question.
Obviously the presence of brethren who are antagonistic towards other brethren is a standing invitation to all beings of similar quality. Thus tyling is at least subject to leaks in that situation.
Equally of course if the temple is not on sacred ground, the Earth energies may be disturbing e.g. a vortex that draws energy out of the temple.
So how to detect if a tyled temple is leak proof?
Or alternately, how to detect if a leak has occurred and strange energies/entities are inside?

It is an interesting question. I have noticed a 'deflation' in the energetic / dynamic structure, as well as a regularly commented-on drain in the SE when the going was rough for a while in our Lodge.
The experience dwindled when the Officers truly pulled together as a Team, under a different Ruler and Wardens.
Other indications appear to be issues with candles and electric lighting not verifiably relating to natural / technical causes. Again, this tends to arise when the Officers - predominantly Master and Wardens - are not sufficiently attuned to one another.
The theme that comes to the fore, then, is that of integrity.
If we are not as One, then there is room for the profane to intrude upon the sacred -- ergo, the Temple is not tyled.

Do you find the drain in the SE correlated with particular brethren?
Or perhaps the SE is associated with a particular "tassel"

Quite often when a lodge is opened there will be an inner pavement unfolding close to the floor in the centre of the temple. This is indicates the presence of an inner charter. Mostly the pavement will be gold and white and this is likely to be a charter from the Lord of the World (the Ancient of Days) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_of_DaysIf the inner pavement is not present there may well be a problem with tyling. |

When the lodge is truly tyled can the potent energies affect the Brn?
Sometimes it seems that, almost as whole, the Brn cannot remember what they have previously proven they know... when it happens to me it reminds me of when 'I'm off with the fairies" - not because I am day dreaming or not interested in proceedings, it feels like I can't keep my mind in the moment, anchor it.
It's a nice feeling, if not embarrassing when it's your turn to speak.

Here is a simple experiment. Go back in your mind to a recent lodge meeting and visualise it as a scene. Now imagine next to that scene a sheet of paper with the writing: Properly Tyled. Now bring the paper next to the lodge scene. What happens?
Now recall a lodge meeting that was a bit tense or awkward. Do the same experiment. Do you see a different interaction between the paper and the lodge?

We had an awkward moment many years ago at one of our meetings. From that experiment above I notice the writing on the paper became hazy and unclear. It's very important that the officers (and columns) are fully focused whilst opening the Lodge as it is important that the Lodge is properly tyled.

Often the lack of proper tyling is caused by lack of harmony between some of the brethren.
There can also be problems where the temple building has not been properly chosen
