It is a curious statement - that the earth passes away and the sea is no more. Was the sea separate from the earth? Or was the sea more important than the earth that supported it?
In the Hindu tradition not only the first earth passed away but all of the first solar system. Is "sea" a reference to the cosmic ocean in which the solar system existed?
The first solar system is said to have been for learning about matter and intelligence. This incarnation of the solar system is learning to manage relationships. Our god is now a god of love.
In the next solar system our god will have become a god of will.
I draw a distinction between the many gods reported/worshiped by ancient peoples and the Entity that uses the Solar System as a body (Solar Logos).
The gods might well use ambassadors to communicate their desires to Earth humans. Meanwhile the Solar Logos is barely aware of what humans do - rather like humans have only slight awareness of cells in their bodies.
