I recall having vision when I was around 11-12 years old where I was being transported by a driver-less car and had this recurring dream for around a year. Self-driving cars in theory sound great but in order for them to work they require 360° camera and surveillance at all times, seems like the sort of thing that will eventually break down all barriers of privacy and lead to all sorts of problems. The terminator movies are the most frequently quoted films of this worrying dystopian future where AI/Robots are always out manouvering our next steps and it's these sort of mass connected systems that will enable said systems to eventually overpower us. www.bbc.co.uk/news/31047780The threat is real, the question is how long before we see the effects. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaTfzYDZG8cUnidentifiable Humanoids walking amongst us? Can't see any negatives in those at all...

>Unidentifiable Humanoids walking amongst us? They are already here - humanoid aliens, humanoid clones and humanoid alien clones. I have seen one of the last. Some account of it here: a406.proboards.com/thread/341/time-linesAlso quite a lot of Earth humans do not have souls. I knew the head of a large HR section that was soulless. I suppose that is consistent with allocating human resources rather than posting people.

Avoiding creating a new thread:
The other day I saw 3 bright yellow cars in the space of 30 seconds. I was quite surprised.
For the last 30 years the favorite colors for cars have been silver, white and black. And yet as a child I often saw pastel colored cars. Why have Westerners liked non-colors for so long?
So I looked around and close by there was a sky-blue Micra. And there were some other cars that were in noticeably less dingy colors.
Is the human race cheering up?

I am waiting for mind controlled computing.

>id be guessing u mean public release of such
Quite so. I have no doubt that the best technology is not in the public domain.

> ships are alive to most extent
There are various accounts of that.
Also Trevor Constable recorded large amoeba-like entities in the sky using infrared film.
I find it useful to regard cars as alive. They respond quite well, for example choosing which sort of oil is best for them.

Self driving commercial airliners have been around for over two decades. The pilot is still responsible for taxiing the plane when it is on the ground. But the average time between when the wheels leave the ground and when the pilot turns control of the plane over to the computer is 14 seconds.

Planes are a bit easier in that the control tower is managing the separation of flight paths and planes

True, I spent a few years taxiing 90 passenger jets around Detroit Metro Airport and it takes all your attention.

Fully controlled vehicles ,otherwise known as 'autonomous level 5' is predicted to be here within 10 years.
Countries are already planning the removal of gas emission cars with only electric being the legal viable option, you can see the path how everyone within a few decades are going to be force to use a car that is autonomous only.
The next decade will see the most rapid development of AI and nothing is going to slow it's growth,we are all sitting ducks as far as i'm concerned.
Autonomous along with the 'Internet of things/IOT' is going to ensure that no one has any privacy anywhere eventually, all propagated and widely accepted with Fear, the same emotion that many would argue lead to religions dominance of the past.
I recently watched Bladerunner for the first time which sort of highlights issues of unidentifiable Androids,or 'replicants' as they are called in the film, perhaps an extreme optimists view of where AI can reach but an interesting hypothesis nevertheless.

One of the problems with current self-driving cars is the amount of EMR they produce - particularly where using radar. According to some estimates about 5% of the population may be hypersensitive to EMR. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_hypersensitivityI have a variety of symptoms when close to cell phones and dirty electricity but most people would not associate their symptoms with exposure since exposure is 24/7..

I remember a local news story of a couple moving away from the city for that very reason Paul, living a life with no gadgets whatsoever and living a self sustaining life as best as they could,i believe she felt much better after the move but not the ideal choice for EMR sufferers.
I Also remember someone painting the walls of their house with a certain mixture that shielded their house from EMR ,i'll try to hunt down the story if i can find it.

I believe that salt crystal is one thing that reduces radiation from electronic devices. Himalayan salt lamps are used for this purpose.

I think the salt lamps emit negative ions. This reduces the positive ion concentration produced by cathode ray tubes and other electronic components. CRTs also produce strong magnetic fields. Fortunately most people now use flat screens.

Might have to get a few of these! As you say Paul how would most know they suffer symptoms or stress related to EMR if one is subjected to it all the time

>how would most know they suffer symptoms or stress related to EMR if one is subjected to it all the time
I only really discovered when a mobile phone tower was put just outside my window at work - about 30 meters away at the same level as me. Despite sitting behind a pillar and using mylar for screening I had problems with my right eye, right ear, right jaw, right shoulder, headaches on the right side and general nausea.
Now that I have removed myself and shielded my townhouse and now use devices to reduce dirty electricity I have largely but not entirely recovered. Some damage may be permanent.
Because dirty electricity produces similar effects many people will not notice much improvement when they reduce their WiFi exposure.
On the other hand quite a lot of people get sick after starting to use WiFi routers for their internet.
>Might have to get a few of these!
In my view the lamps deal with a specific type of exposure (positive ions) that is active over a much shorter range than WiFi.

Within a few days of my prediction the UK government has announced plans to BAN all Petrol & Diesel cars within two decades... link Worrying times ahead...

That is actually a proposed ban on new cars. Cars existing at the time will no doubt be permitted for quite some time.
