In the O.T. the entity commonly referred to as Ba'al seems to be Molech, an evil god requesting child sacrifice.
Although the inscription reads: "I will strive to live with love and care (1st half) upon the level and by the square (2nd half).
The idea of a 'Temple of Ba'al' just sounds creepy and causes my mind great discomfort.
I believe that an arch to a Temple of Ba'al was reconstructed in New York City. Given what the politicians in America are up to, my first guess would be that it's a reconstruction of a Temple of Molech but I could be wrong.

Baal/Bul in several early Middle Eastern languages is used for lord or husband or for a lord god. It is not a generic name for a god but for a position of authority.
So now the question arises: is Baal's Bridge a misspelling of Ball's Bridge as indicated in the link? Was Ball the local squire or lord? Thus the Baal Ball?
>In the O.T. the entity commonly referred to as Ba'al seems to be Molech, an evil god requesting child sacrifice.
We are back with the theologians making their god supreme and wishing to write the other gods out of theological history by calling them demons or judges.
And of course the god of the Hebrews ate humans too. Abraham never questioned that he had to cook his son.
Here is the Jewish version of Exodus 13:2 JPS Tanakh 1917 Sanctify unto Me all the first-born, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast, it is Mine.'

Quite possibly so. The standard of literary education has been dropping ever since the Industrial Revolution started. These days we misunderstand many of the earlier literary usages.

Whoa. Okay now the O.T. god is starting to sound a lot less likable.
The story playing out in my mind is that Jehovah was bad, but at least not as bad as Molech.
Then you cited (and reminded me of) the passage about Jehovah requiring the firstborn of 'man and of beast'.
Honestly I think Yahweh may be synonymous with Kronos.
I am not too fond of the O.T. god from what I've read so I think I'll just stick to Christ and Buddha.
Although like you said the work of the E.A. is right relationship with all of existence/creation and the more modern sects of Buddhism seem to teach salvation of all beings.

When the Most High gave to the nations When He separated the children of men, He set the borders of the peoples According to the number of the children of Israel. 9For the portion of the LORD is His people, Jacob the lot of His inheritance.
Thus we see the lord of Israel was only given the people of Jacob. He was a very minor god and was given a very small group of humans

In the Oneness of All no salvation is required. No being is ever lost, it is merely a matter of the being coming to know that it is part of the Oneness.

As we see already with some accounts in the O.T children seemed to of played an interesting role of cultures of old, also stated in the Qur'an is Arabs would bury their girls alive out of the shame and need for sons,i sort of have the feeling though that in these tougher climates the idea of feeding and brining up girls was seen as a net negative with the tribal needs of having men defend and hunt out of sheer survival.
Then again we have female abortions/adoptions en masse in China due to their one child policy, although quite different circumstances granted the preference has always been the same.
