Lorraine posed a somewhat simplistic but interesting question: where do angels come from?
And equally: where do angels go?
I anticipate that answers may fit into the following categories:
- theological - experiential - metaphysical - personal belief.
But there may be yet more categories to surprise me.

Ah ... A chicken and egg argument. Or maybe the cabbage patch. Actually, I think I may be simple ... I just realised that in over 50 years of searching I just accepted that God created angels. Now I asked in jest, I find myself with another area of 'interest' BTW ... I have seen an angel. If ever I get the blessing of seeing one again .. I must remember to speak to him/her/it?

In my experience intervention to prevent action are not necessarily on the level of force. For example I knew a group that contained a GD magician. One day they were out and saw a helicopter spraying fields. They objected to this and asked him to stop it. He said: perhaps the helicopter will have engine trouble. Shortly after the helicopter landed and could not take off again.
This can be achieved in various ways, one of which is draining heat from the engine.
Similarly humans can be prevented from doing things by quite simple unobtrusive interventions.

..... Separate entities, or can an angel have a wing dipped in blood, or a demon stop a bad guy from hurting someone else. Humans must know and label everything correctly (right) LOL It is certainly true that humans may mislabel entities based on aversion to what entities may do - for example breaking of a form. And a true naming gives some powers of access. For example, a name must be known before a spelling. About a decade ago I wished to know someone's name from Atlantis. I tried on various occasions with only very partial success. Then one night it was spelt for me in Hebrew. Oddly her middle name and both our mothers names were modern derivatives. In particular, my mother's name, pronounced one letter at a time was almost identical to the name that was spelt for me.

So, I just ask this another way, here, How about if our Guide or Sponsor needs to scare us one day and help us another day, could there be a chameleon feature they operate and look different? Then I would say that is not a true "sponsor," or daemon.

..... Either we feel the energy as positive or negative toward us. Yes I know this point has issues and is hard to execute from a cold start place, so it might be more better done as a later acquired skill...... Hopefully at some stage it is possible to measure energies and thereby escape the perceptual problems that can exist at the level of emotional experience. For example, humans (but not animals) are often fooled by pleasant exteriors. In Masonry we are repeatedly told that we can use "working tools" in a "moral sense" but never told how. Most brethren assume therefore that the word "use" is symbolic rather than literal.

.... No one is, in a free will zone, allowed to provide both how to sets of instructions together and then indicate to do it. ... I have noticed that often instructions are left incomplete. For example the Alice Bailey writings are immense with enormous detail and yet for the would-be initiate the key is missing: how to control consciousness.

....So I went against advice, and took down a Black Magician connection to an operator. This person worked with dying people every day in a hospital, so some high level energy levels were present with this person and they were often the last contact before people crossed over to death. .... It is certainly important to be wary of tackling the second layer of dark entity. Unless the initiate knows his/her status and/or has active participation of a sponsor, the initiate may be over-matched - and let down by unresolved personal issues. Presumably in the case above the entities were lining up the soon-to-be-deceased humans

....Dig not fire with a sword,.... Steel edges can damage the etheric bodies of elementals and generally it is wise not to annoy the elementals of fire - who are easily annoyed anyway. Similarly the steel edges of ceiling fans rotating at high speed damage the bodies of the elementals of air.

Have we made any progress in discovering from where angels come?

There is lore out there that indicates Humans shut in the full power of being in the flow of divinity by saying or naming,,, claiming the name of God.... There is some truth in that. If you are on the bus and speak to the driver, calling him/her " bus driver" you access different aspects of him than if you call him by his personal name. Hence perhaps the tradition of gods having a secret name. That said, the names arising from theology can be a bit tricky - being a hybrid of theology and reality and accessing an energy construct that may be informed by entities other than that desired. Consider for example various wars between sects of the same religion. It is safer in my view to use functional rather that theological and historical names.

Firstly I would consider the Greek "angelos" - messenger. The ancient gods certainly used messengers. For example Lot met two angels and invited them in to wash their feet and they ate with him. And locals turned up and said: 5And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. yltbible.com/genesis/19.htm (It turned out that the messengers were not interested in Biblical knowledge by the locals). So at least some of the angels of the OT were definitely humanoid, in need of food, and attractive to the inhabitants of Sodom. But those are not what are commonly regarded as angels these days. In modern times we have: - celestial-looking humanoids that may not be seen by all present - with both religious and alien connotations (e.g. Lourdes but in practice common across much of Europe but preserved as local legends) - non-physical non-humanoid species that rarely take physical appearance. The non-humanoid can be: - elementals (intelligences of the elemental substance) - nature spirits (fairies etc) that manage the elementals - higher devas that managed the nature spirits (lesser devas) There are of course other non-humanoid species but let's keep it a bit simple.

The other half of the original question is: where do angels go?
Many humans hope to go to heaven. To what do angels aspire?

Good question. Had not thought about it before. If 'as above, so below' one would think that they evolve step by step towards 'the Centre' - assuming one is part of the ALL. I have read that angels might be part of ourselves, the super conscious part of ourselves - the part which did not 'descend'. Might that explain all the stories about the mystery of Trinity?

Just Googled Angels +Cayce. (Love Edgar Cayce)
Found this...
Masonically speaking - this reminds me of the SD and his duty. He is that Higher Mind that responds directly with the Master. (I think at one level of understanding that the 7 officers represent parts of our inner self). He is also the guide for all above the EA degree.

The other half of the original question is: where do angels go? Many humans hope to go to heaven. To what do angels aspire? There are angels and then there are angels. In the Theosophical system, as I understand it, there are beings that move along the path of evolution from nature spirits, etc. to devas (=angels?), rarely entering the path of human evolution. Since the two paths are so different, I wonder if we can speak of angelic beings as aspiring to any level of existence, in the same way we look toward heaven as our eternal home. Are we projecting our own ideas, conditions onto a being so alien to us? Several religions speak of angels and, generally speaking, they serve a particular function. It's been suggested by a few that when that function is fulfilled, they no longer exist. Would extinction hold the same terror for an angel as it would for one of us humans? I would imagine it is very difficult to understand the motivation, the feelings, the thoughts of an angel, because the two kingdoms are so different. It's been suggested that communication with an angelic being for most of us isn't the same as communicating with another human. Angels use the concepts, forms, and words that already exist in us. Imagine an Einstein trying to explain relativity to a six-year-old. Since we aspire to something greater, higher, we assume that angels must also. Using human evolution as a model, why were we created? Some of us would like to think that somehow we serve in the evolution of all of creation. Perhaps angels have the same purpose. To what do some humans aspire? Some of us would rule planets, others simply to serve in that evolution. Perhaps angels have the same options in their realm.

In the DK writings it is suggested that (some?) lesser devas pass through the human race to learn Will before becoming greater devas. This proposal indicates the humans exist on many more places than Earth. I wonder too whether at Cosmic levels, there are multiple paths to some functions. "And there is another major group of devas about which much may not as yet be communicated: They have come in from another planetary scheme, and are specialists in their particular line. They have attained, or passed through, the human kingdom, and are of equal rank with certain members of the Hierarchy, having chosen to stay and work in connection with the physical plane evolution. They are only twelve and are also mentioned in the list below. " academyofwisdomteaching.eu/4/science_of_the_devas_54209.html
