The best exposition I have seen of the origins of the tassels occurs in the Mayan tradition. Thus the Hunab Ku is placed in the center of the calendar then to simplify the structure the Mayan symbols and numbers are removed, black and white tiles placed regularly and a Blazing Star placed in the center. The difficulty of course is that the context is lost and with it the meaning of the 4 directions

Whilst reading about something entirely removed from Freemasonry I came across a reference to " The Stretching of the Cord Ceremony". Could this be related to our tassels? Might it be just one level of meaning for them? I have grasped the stake... I take the measuring cord in the company of Seshat. I consider the progressive movements of the stars. My eye is fixed upon the Bull's Thigh [Ursa Major]. I count off time ..... and establish the corners of the Temple'.
Inscription from the Temple of Horus at Edfu
Great is the recital, the history of the time when all the corners of the sky and earth were completed, and the quadrangulation, its measure, the four points, the measuring of the corners, the measuring of the lines, in heaven, in earth, at the four corners'

'Wherefore have they taken those long ropes and gone forth? He said 'They are gone forth to measure. These measures shall reveal all the secrets of the depths of the earth' (Book of Enoch ch. LX v. 2-6) This is one of the origins of the Blake: Ancient of Days The wind in the hair indicates horizontal movement across the landscape

I didn't know this...
Seshat
Seshat (literally, 'the female scribe') was the goddess of all forms of writing and notation, including record keeping, accounting, and census taking as well as being 'she who is foremost in the house of books': the patroness of temple libraries and other collections of texts. The goddess is known from as early as the 2nd Dynasty when she is attested assisting King Khasekhemwy in the ritual 'stretching the cord' ceremony, as Seshat was also the 'mistress of builders' and it was she who established the ground plan on the founding or expansion of every sacred structure.

Did Seshat actually exist as a humanoid teaching writing and organising the census?

Did Seshat actually exist as a humanoid teaching writing and organising the census? Or like Thoth, is she an allegorical aide-memoire figure?
Here's a funny piece of serendipity - I was just searching t'interwebs for "I take the measuring cord in the company of Seshat. " - and guess what pops up on the first page of results? A link to this topic! :-)
Like LorrB, I'd found the similarities - plus how Seshat surveyed the land to find the corner points:
Does that appear in any lodge ritual?

I'm glad I wasn't the only one getting the video game perspective. I was wondering if I just played too many games HAHA. I probably still did though..

It seems the rhythms created were with just using the line and the point. I also noticed native American had the line and point for good (point on top) and bad (point on bottom).

>Or like Thoth, is she an allegorical aide-memoire figure? Why would you think that Thoth is allegorical? It is because the depictions are not by eye witnesses and therefore over-emphasize the facial features? Even today some people are referred to as bird-faced and there are a lot in the various mythologies en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_avian_humanoids

The second one includes the 4 tassels and the Hunab Ku - at the center of the galaxy I got some interesting connections with the 4 tassels pic. I saw a life force entering the circle of creation from the top, and those lives being "complete" and leaving in the same line. Like the symbol of being created is like getting your passport stamped. The dots and lines are individual "bodies", each one is different by placing and symbol. The tassels are the "strings" that hold it all together, like gravity or attraction. I get the same energy no matter what tassels I focus on.

Re << the first one, if simplified, is very similar to the Masonic pavement>> In Spanish? ENOS is East North Ouest (West) South 10 planets, and four cardinal marks, with mirror images.

Perhaps because the Egyptian enscriptions describe people representing Seshat, not Seshat herself.
But I might easily have missed something. Lost in translation?

Put the second image I supplied at the center of the galaxy. What happens?

A grid, 13 x 20 hexadecimal notation 13 x 20 = 360 i.e a calendar for the "perfect" year.
Counting is in fives, from 1 to 13 and then restarting at 1 . = 1 .. = 2 ... = 3 ... = 4 _ = 5
Dots over _ = 6 to 9 Double _ = 10

>The tassels are the "strings" that hold it all together, like gravity or attraction. Put the second image I supplied at the center of the galaxy. What happens? All this was only from the second image. The first image I only see the patterns and nothing forming together. If i try to put the patterns together it sounds like a bunch of people chattering. If I focus on just the hunab ku, I get the same image as the whole tassel pic, just more simplified (less descriptive).

The counting pattern is odd. 1 dot to 4, then 5 is the bar/line. 3 dots and two bars is 13. So why does it never go above 13? 13 x 20 is 260. This is a very odd pattern.

I was curious as to the pics too, thanks for posting. It seems the rhythms created were with just using the line and the point. I also noticed native American had the line and point for good (point on top) and bad (point on bottom). native American >>> Any Chance of getting this statement tightened up With an ALL native American or Central native American or North native American or south native American As there seems to B a loss on my end of the declaration of what U share verses what ur trying to indicate ,., as have to sorta just guess about intent rendered as spaghetti thrown at wall & seen what or how much sticks as topic material At the time of the Americas life, the natives were not much different then current societies. For the most part all tribes communicated with each other (even during war). The knowledge of any one tribe was spread quite far and wide. Even the man in the maze/symbol of life had multiple images. There is history, that this interaction also was with the Aztec and Mayan cultures as well. It's not always easy knowing what came from what tribe. This pictographs list is where I saw it tho.
