Over the years I have often dreamed of university study, almost always maths. Most commonly I dream about exams, and in the dream I think: "It has been years since I studied this", or "I have forgotten to study for this", or "I did not even find my way to the lectures"
Anyway the other night I dreamed that I had completed some post grad studies in maths some time before and was considering undertaking mathematical research. I was somewhat ambivalent about the work and can't remember what I decided.

I dreamed I was driving around looking for a parking place, but couldn't find one. I kept driving around the same bank parking lot, but would come out in a construction site or a factory parking lot.

I find I can project back into the dream and interact with the scene to test various hypotheses.

How's this...
When we are born and when we die we have to cross the river of forgetfulness. I would interpret the dream as suggesting that Paul remembers just enough from elswhere to know that he knows, but is frustrated because from 'down here' things are not quite 'adding up'.
Henka knows where the treasures are but can't access to them. Hints are given that there is more building or manufacturing work to do. Apron on, hands free.. ?
When you think about it.. both are similar. Enough knowledge of the plan to know where the treasure is, but full access disabled to some extent.

Right - you two can analyze my now (Oh no!)
Several nights ago, I dreamt I was wondering around a cemetry looking at graves, only this cemetry was indoors, and the graves were rather like museum exhibits. When I passed from one section of the museum into another I came across a rather jolly family who lived there. No graves in this section, just lots of grand furniture and all the walls and fabrics were green. They asked if I would like to stay and share a meal with them.
(It wasn't a sombre dream, just interesting. Not too sure I am too keen on the staying bit ;D )

I would interpret the dream as suggesting that Paul remembers just enough from elswhere to know that he knows, but is frustrated because from 'down here' things are not quite 'adding up'. The above is an interesting hypothesis. One way we can test it is against other as yet unreported dreams. For example, for years I dreamed about exams that I was not prepared for. Then one night I dreamed that I was asked to run the class. I objected that I was not good enough and they showed me a hand written foolscap ledger with all the student marks. According to the ledge I was top of that class so I ceased my objection. After that I did not have an exam dream for about 10 years.

I dreamt I was wondering around a cemetery looking at graves, only this cemetery was indoors, Try stepping back into the scene and putting your college next to the indoor cemetery. What happens?

Ye gads your good! I have to say it is a nice 'cemetery' and I need to linger longer here. I had not thought about it being the work place. Rather thought my brain cells must be dead What about the green, I escape to other planes mentally, while earthbound? I do that quite a bit Sssshhh.

That is rather like a previously reported dream of mine... where I had seeds to sow, but was hesitant to do so (feelings of inadequacy). They shook the hand that held the trowel for me, then turned me around to show me rapidly growing plants, which they were going to tend for me. That is when I decided to join in Masonic Forums. (It's 'their' fault folks )

Right - you two can analyze my now (Oh no!) I have not talent for dream interpretation. To me, they are just random patterns our brain invents to resolve subconscious level problems which we see in the form of symbolic representations. The symbols are really only significant to the particular individual.

To me, they are just random patterns our brain invents to resolve subconscious level problems which we see in the form of symbolic representations. I would have thought that your account of driving around a bank parking lot but repeatedly coming out in a factory/construction site was quite significant - perhaps along the lines of reality not being as it first appeared. The symbols are really only significant to the particular individual Technically, symbols (as compared to emblems) are energetically connected to some aspect of reality - hence Lorr's capacity to re-enter the symbolic dream and undertake experiments. The moderately long-lived energy reality of some dreams allows other humans, at a later time, to enter dream scenes and interact with them. This allowed me to enter Lorr's dream to detect possible meaning and devise an experiment for her.

I would have thought that your account of driving around a bank parking lot but repeatedly coming out in a factory/construction site was quite significant - perhaps along the lines of reality not being as it first appeared. It is significant. I have been out of work for six weeks awaiting reassignment. I shall be starting on a construction site on Monday, and I have exhausted my bank account (four weeks ago, actually). The dream directly relates to this reality.

Sorry to hear things a tough for you at present Henka. Been there, know what it is like. I can only urge you to 'keep looking at the stars while you're wading through the mud'. Things do change, and quite dramatically so sometimes. Further on your dream - given that it now seems to reflect what is happening in everyday life can I ask you why you didn't seem to realise that when you reported it (you ended the dream with ). Did you have the new job when you reported the dream or did that come afterwards? You might find it interesting to take note of your dreams for a while. And good luck with the new job.. hope it holds a few nice surprises for you.

I connected them while reading the posts here, actually. I had not sat down and thought about it. I do not usually remember my dreams, or, at best, only snatches. This one was part of a larger, more incoherent series that night.

I frequently have dreams about study and exams, often it is a reminder that I am not applying myself enough, but I have found that the level of the classroom, i.e. junior school, high school, university, or higher degree reflects the level to which I so far have understood the concepts that my dream is about or that which I am currently working on, a kind of a feedback to my progress. If new material is presented to me in the dream I might be in a junior school setting for example.

This reminded me that I had an exam dream last night, and I wasn't sure if I had attended all the exams, but I worked out that I had attended enough for a standard year's work. It is a long time since I had one of those. I must be progressing again.
