Well, it seems that Hanuman was not too disimilar to a mason...
Monkey god and known for his courage, power and faithful, selfless service.
This is proving to be more interesting that I anticipated. Remember that taming our monkey-mind is one of first masonic chores, and tyling 'the lodge' on a regular basis reinforces this challenge.
I can't help but be amused by the course this thread has taken. How many mainstream masons would have fled at the mere mention of alien craft and not seen that by keeping an open mind, we have discovered something pertaining to tyling a lodge.
How many Royal Arch masons recognise principal sojourners? How many Royal Arch masons have the open mind and courage to take ways known not?

I rather think that Hanuman is an allegory for the mind, rather like the TV series Monkey www.imdb.com/title/tt0078659/
There the boy monk is played by a woman (therefore androgynous soul) while Monkey is the mind ("equal of heaven" in his own estimation) and Sandy the fish being represents the emotions, Pigsy represents the physical desires, and sometimes there is Horse who alternates between a horse and a human form, representing the physical body
All the essential parts seem present, be it stylised.. it could very well resemble something that was disigned (or evolved) to fly using lift generated by the atmosphere..
Perhaps a mothership would also have a number of short distance atmospheric craft
perhaps, but why bother if u have a more advanced technology at your disposal?
Anyhow, if alien races r involved, when can we xpect to join the galactic society?
I sometimes wonder why humans walk when they can ride.
The answer could be that its more practical over short distances cause u dont have to worry about parking etc.. This is not the case when comparing with antigrav or aerodynamic lift cause u still have a craft either way..
u could ask; why do ppl ride on horseback if they have a car? Only for fun.. (or in case of mounted police, to impress)
Anyway, back to the roots of masonry: Universal law (a.o. geometry).. By utilizing the relevant universal laws, 1 can skip the trial and error phase.. Learning how to use these laws is therefor essential to any1 who aspires to become a master..
Learning how to use these laws is therefore essential to any1 who aspires to become a master..
... and so few Masters in Freemasonry these days ?
I have noticed that when I discover a little bit of a law here and there that one of the Jesus sayings in the Bible springs to mind - probably why the Bible is referred to as the Volume of Sacred Law/Lore.

Quite so. A Master is fundamentally a master of his/her internal energies and intelligences. That mastery then can be applied to skilful interaction with the outer and inner worlds.
Prior to 1717, English Masonry included a significant number of alchemists who were able to assist brethren of sufficient merit in the work of the Fellowcraft - investigating the hidden mysteries of nature and science.
These days it is rare to find brethren who even think about what the FC task might mean.
