God Omnipresent... is there space where He is here and where He is elsewhere?
"Tsimtsum is, essentially, a Kabalistic term. The omnipotent God generated the void in which to create a universe by withdrawing from a certain space; a space that might then be filled by God’s creation. Tsimtsum is the act of that withdrawal, contraction or concentration of energy into a primordial point. " www.realm.org.uk/glossary.htm
In a more Christian tradition we might name such a process The Revelation of the Word.
The term "space" is not literal. For example, in conversation we might leave mental and emotional space for the other parties to have their own opinions by carefully not filling it with our own energies.
Words confound me, must admit. How can an Omnipresent God withdraw from anywhere? I can understand this from your example of giving people space to do their own thing. Good point. Thanks.
